The following is a ballpark of fee ranges in criminal cases. All fees are case-by-case. In general, more complex cases will be more expensive than simpler cases and trials will be more expensive than cases that can be disposed of by motion (for example, motion to dismiss) or by plea. Fees also vary by court, based on both the amount of time required to travel back and forth to the court, and how quickly the court processes cases.
District Court – Show Cause Hearing: $1,000 to $2,500.
District Court – Arraignment through Trial: $2,500 to $25,000. Most cases end up around $10,000-15,000.
Superior Court – Arraignment through Trial: $15,000 to $100,000 and up.
Appeals: $10,000 to $30,000 and up.
We accept checks, money orders, and credit cards for payment. Cash is not accepted for fees over $1,000.
